Illustration Friday- Safari
"Why is it that I now bear the colors of the food in which I feast upon?" boomed the king to the lionesses surrounding him. "I do not understand this tomfoolery! I will be the mockery of the Savannah."
To which one of the females responded, "Well, you know what they say" She said, "You are what you eat, your highness."

Illustration Friday- Lesson
"The first eighteen months of a cub's life are important; cubs must learn many lessons, because survival depends on knowing how to hunt wild prey species and avoid other predators." - Wikipedia

Free Time Drawing
I made them on seperate pages of my sketchbook, because I didn't want to mess up either one of them while doing the other.

Blackstar
People who read Warriors would understand.
For those who don't, enjoy this angry cat with black feet and ears. :)
I only spent an hour on it. So, the lines are kind of lazy, and no background.

Illustration Friday- Duet
My two options for Duet are two wolves howling and two birds chirping. It's likely that I'll try for the birds, since it's something new for me. Plus, the bird image should help me practice new and unique ways to explore backgrounds.

Peter and the Wolf Re-Illustration
I remember that when I read children's books when I was younger, I loved one aspect of the books more than any other. I just adored textures. Textures that I could see, or feel. I loved a variety of textures on one page. They were very important to me. So, I kept the texture of my sketchpad paper for the background (with minor edits). I also made different textures for the wolf, duck, grass, and clouds.
Oh, and it's just a little less cartoony than the original.
I used This reference of a yawning wolf for the mouth, and This reference of a flying goose (Although, I made the anatomy more appropriate for a duck).

Free Time Fan Art- Mother and Son
This is a bit off topic, and totally unrelated to my schoolwork. However, I am quite happy with the results of this piece that I decided to do in my free time at home. The characters are Amaterasu, and her son Chibiterasu. They are characters featured in Capcom's games "Okami" and "Okamiden".
The watermark on my first image is to prevent art thieves from using the lineart that I made (I get a bit paranoid about people stealing my hard work). Since this is an entry for a contest, I had to have proof of the image's early development. Enjoy!

Illustration Friday- Toy
A Toy Chihuahua Toying with his poor Toy teddy bear.
I omitted the dog bowl. It took away from the focus on the dog-- also, I can't draw dog bowls.

Illustration Friday- Cultivate
I entertained myself quite a bit with a tool in Paint.NET called "Crystalize". Something new, you know?
